Should I use a telehealth weight-loss clinic or my own doctor?
Both. The clinic gets you the medicine. Your real doctor keeps you safe.
Prescription providers, online or local, exist to answer a narrow set of questions. Should you take it? Yes. Should you increase? Yes. Should you keep using it? Yes. They are the Yes Men who get us on the medicine.
They are not there to debate the merits of medical weight loss or to work out how this fits the rest of your health. That is your regular doctor's job , the one who knows your history and your family history and can weigh the serious risks.
Work with the clinic for the medicine. Make sure your primary doctor agrees with the decision.
None of this is medical advice. It is educational material drawn from FAT BITCH: Killing the Willpower Myth by Cat Clark, and it does not replace your prescriber, your pharmacist, or your actual doctor. If something here does not match what your care team told you, go with your care team and bring this along to the conversation.
