What is the sweet spot dose?
Food noise on mute, 1 to 2 pounds a week, enough protein going down, and you do not feel like death.
The sweet spot is the dose where four things are true at once: the food noise is on mute, you are losing one to two pounds a week, you can actually stomach enough protein to protect your muscles, and you do not feel like death warmed over.
Notice what is not on that list. Losing weight as fast as humanly possible, and matching somebody else's results.
It is a moving target, because your body adapts to the medication, to food changes, to exercise, and to your mental health improving. Your doctor cannot tell you when it is working. You have to tell them.
None of this is medical advice. It is educational material drawn from FAT BITCH: Killing the Willpower Myth by Cat Clark, and it does not replace your prescriber, your pharmacist, or your actual doctor. If something here does not match what your care team told you, go with your care team and bring this along to the conversation.
