Food Noise

The constant mental chatter about food: planning the next meal, obsessing over snacks, being called back to the pantry.

Definition

The intrusive, constant mental chatter about food, planning the next meal, obsessing over snacks, or feeling called back to the pantry.

Why it matters

Food noise runs the same four questions on a loop: Is there enough food? Am I allowed to eat it? What will I eat next? When will there be more? Quieting that loop is the effect most people notice first, and the one they miss most if they stop.
