GLP-1 Side Effects

Fatigue

Feeling tired is another common experience. Some users report feeling sleepy for a day or two after the injection.

Why it happens

There is a caloric deficit our bodies are working through, which is how we usually get our energy. If we are dehydrated, we can feel weak and tired.

How to prevent it

Eat. You need to eat several times a day. If you don’t, you will feel like shit. It’s ok if you don’t want a whole meal. Have a piece of fruit or a handful of nuts, a hard-boiled egg, or a string cheese.

How to treat it

Aim for at least 7 hours of sleep per night. Stop any caffeine before dinner and put your phone away before bed. It helps if you give yourself a bedtime and a wind-down routine about an hour before, with brushed teeth and dimmed lights. If you are still feeling tired, you may consider supplementing with B12 to boost energy (some compounding pharmacies offer this combination as an option for your prescription).

When to call a doctor

If the fatigue persists despite making changes to improve how you feel and is disrupting your daily activities and getting in the way of your life, talk to your doctor and make sure there is nothing else going on.
